Lasers and their use whem modeling in Forensic Ballistics

Abstract:

The article informs about the scientific contribution of physicists who ensured the emergence, subsequent progressive development and widespread use of laser technique and laser technology in various areas of human life and activity, including in the fight against crime. It reveals the possibilities of their use in modeling in forensic ballistics for the purpose of determining the trajectory of a bullet, the distance of a non-close-range bullet shot, and the relative positions of the victim and the shooter at the moment the trigger was pulled. Technical means and devices are presented that provide solutions to these forensic ballistic problems even in non-obvious conditions. The readiness of laser modeling techniques for widespread implementation in operational investigative and forensic practice is emphasized. Special literature is provided that allows one to independently acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the actual application of this technique in the disclosure and investigation of specific criminal cases related to the use of firearms for illegal purposes.
