International scientific discussion on problematic issues of  Self Defense and State of Necessity in criminal law was conducted

On November 18, 2021, an online international academic discussion on problematic issues of  Self Defense and State of Necessity in criminal law was organized by the Union of Law Scientists and the international scientific journal Herald of Law.

The discussion was held on a zoom platform.

Presenters were:

Professor Gustavo Balmaseda Hoyos (from Chile) and Kakha Tsikarishvili (from Georgia).

Professor Gustavo Balmaseda Hoyos is Doctor of Law (Spain), Professor of Criminal Law, Academic Director of the Center for Law Studies in Chile, Lawyer with a specialization in Criminal Law, author of over 40 scientific publications.

It should be noted that on December 4, 2020, Professor Gustavo Balmaseda Hoyos, gave a 1-hour lecture on “Key Aspects of Complicity Latin America and in Georgia” co-organized by the Union of Law Scientists and the Journal of the Herald of Law.

Kakha Tsikarishvili is a member of the Union of Law Scientists, professor at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs.

The discussion was held within the framework of the pilot project “Online Academic Discussions”.

Representatives of academic circles, lawyers, judges and lawyers participated in the discussion.
