Competition in the Field of Civil Aviation as a Driving Force of the EU Single Market

Abstract:

The aim of the article is to study the essence and purpose of the EU single market; to analyze the functioning of the European Common Aviation Area and the competition norms; to highlight the priority issues of Georgia’s coexistence in the aviation market within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy.

According to the conducted research, legislation of the European Community/European Union was only applied to the member states. Later, cooperation with non-member/candidate countries became relevant for the European Union, which became the basis for the establishment of the Single European Sky.

For Georgia, as a state that has already received candidate status, it is very important to analyze the EU

legal base and conduct the harmonization process in a straight line.
