Possibilities And Perspectives Of Use Of Laser Modeling In Forensic Ballistics


In the interests of improving the operational-investigative and forensic practice of combating armed crime, the article discusses the current state of modeling the trajectory of a bullet and determining the distance of a direct bullet shot at the scene using laser technology and laser tech nologies. The methods and author’s studies on this issue are given. The expediency of their wide introduction into forensic ballistics is substantiated. Algorithms, practical recommendations and real examples of solving the mentioned problems with the help of lasers in specific criminal cases related to the use of firearms for criminal purposes are given. A new fundamental possibility of reproducing the flight path of a shot (buckshot) cover through the use of compact sources of laser radiation and a special laser device created for these purposes as a personal initiative has been proposed and disclosed.
